01 · HOW A MAKEOVER RUNS

Six stages, no surprises.

A whole garden is a bigger decision than a patio. This is exactly what happens, in order, so you always know where you stand and what you have paid.

  1. Free survey and a cup of tea

David measures the whole garden with a laser level: slopes, drainage, damp course heights, access and where the sun falls. He brings sample slabs and listens to how you want to use the space.

  2. A scaled layout plan

Within about a week you get a plan drawn to scale, plus a simple 3D view, showing the patio, steps, walls, lawn and beds. Change it as often as you like before you commit.

  3. A fixed-price Bill of Quantities

Every item priced from our published rates: m² of paving, metres of wall and fence, tonnes of muck-away. The total does not move unless you add something.

  4. £0 to book, pay as materials land

No deposit to hold your dates. You pay each materials invoice only when the pallets are on your drive, so your money is never sitting with us for work not started.

  5. The build, by two people

David digs, levels and builds the walls and drains. Callum lays and points every slab. No crews you have never met, no strangers in your garden.

  6. Walk-round and sign-off

We walk the finished garden with you, check every level, and only then ask for the labour balance. You receive your 10-year written guarantee the same day.

02 · WHAT YOUR BUDGET BUYS

Three typical makeovers, added up line by line.

These are worked examples from our published rates, so you can see roughly where your garden would land before David visits. Every price is all‑in: digging, muck-away, sub-base, laying and clean-up.

"Our garden fell away so steeply we only ever looked at it from the kitchen. Now there is a terrace, a lawn and a gazebo at the bottom where we have breakfast. Paying as the materials turned up made a big job feel manageable." Neil & Rachel Haworth, Marple

06 · QUESTIONS

Before you commit to a whole garden

Can the price change once you start?+
Only if you add something, or if we dig up something nobody could see, like an old concrete base or a hidden drain. If that happens, we stop, show you, and agree any extra in writing before carrying on.
Do you choose the plants?+
We are groundworkers, not garden designers, and we say so. We build and prepare the beds with good topsoil, then plant from your list or from a planting plan by a local nursery. Many customers enjoy choosing the plants themselves.
Can we do it in stages?+
Yes. The plan covers the whole garden, so stage one (often the drainage and the walls) is built ready for stage two. Many people do the hard landscaping one year and the lawn and fencing the next.
Can we stay at home while you work?+
Almost everyone does. We keep a clear, safe path to your door, tidy up every evening, and tell you a day ahead about noisy days or deliveries.
